The Fight Response
And How It Is Showing Up
In Your Life Right Now

You probably think of fighting as something physical

But most fighting looks nothing like that.

02 — 06

The nervous system remembers
what worked

Not because the child is aggressive — but because aggression felt like the only way to feel safe. And the nervous system remembers what worked.
So it keeps using it long after the danger is gone.

03 — 06

In adulthood the fight response
does not always look like anger

Needing to control everything.

Expecting perfection from the people around you.

An unpredictable temper that surprises even you.

Dominating conversations. Dismissing other perspectives.

04 — 06

None of it feels like fear

But underneath

That is exactly what it is. A nervous system still fighting a threat that no longer exists.

The need to control is almost always a fear of being out of control.
The anger is almost always pain in disguise.

05 — 06

You cannot logic your way
out of a nervous system response

But you can learn to recognize it.

The moment you feel the urge to control, criticize or overpower — pause.

06 — 06

Ask yourself:

"What am I actually
afraid of
right now?"
