Why You Tell Yourself
What You Want
Is Not Available

The second great limiting belief

02 — 06

It is not available to me.

It sounds like realism. It feels like realism. But it is a belief — handed to you before you were old enough to question it.

I want love, but it never works out for me.
I want success, but I did not come from the right background.
I want to be healthy, but it runs in my family.

03 — 06

We learn what we live.
We live what we learn.

If the adults around you believed good things were hard to come by, you absorbed that.

If you grew up with very few choices — what to eat, what to wear, what to do — your mind concluded that options were not really yours to have.

04 — 06

This belief is sneaky.

01

Brushing off compliments as though they were meant for someone else

02

Rationalizing why good things could not possibly last

Someone says you did an amazing job and you say —
"Oh, I just got lucky. Anyone could have done it."

That is not modesty. That is a belief running in the background.

05 — 06

Start small.

Your practice today

Praise yourself. For something. Anything.

Because self-praise is always available to you —
no matter what you were taught.

Self-praise is
always available to you —
no matter what
you were taught.
