The assumption that stops most people
That hypnotherapy introduces something foreign into your mind.
That it is done to you rather than through you. That a hypnotherapist reaches in and rewires you in ways you cannot access yourself. None of that is what hypnotherapy is.

Every night before sleep — moving through alpha into theta.
Every morning before you fully wake — your brain drifting in theta.
Every time you zone out on a long drive or lose track of time in thought.

What hypnotherapy actually does
Takes your natural ability and makes it intentional, structured, and directed.
A purposeful entry into alpha and theta. Staying there long enough to do meaningful work. Directing that open, receptive state toward the specific beliefs and patterns you want to change.

The real distinction
The difference between what your brain does naturally and what happens in hypnotherapy is not the state itself. It is the intention behind entering it. You already have the hardware. Hypnotherapy teaches you to use it on purpose.
